Albright Early Learning Center

As I am sitting here during nap time in preschools one and two, I do not know what to really do with myself.  I have decided that I am going to share about my some of my experiences working here.  I enjoy working here a lot because I never had planned on working with young children for a living ever which is why I am a secondary education major.  The saying is true that kids say, and do, the darndest things.  For example, one day I was in T1 and a little girl was crying because she had dropped her binky and another little boy came over and shoved it into her mouth.  These children are only a little over a year old.  It was one of the most entertaining things that I had ever seen.  I hope that I can continue to have many more wonderful times here.

Final thoughts about technology use in a classroom

Technology is important to incorporate into a classroom and I mean more than just using Power-point.  Technology can allow teachers to accomplish simple tasks more easily.  More importantly, it opens up new ways for students to learn material.  It also gives students a way to express themselves and with direction from a teacher it can be done in a classroom.  Technology is definitely a bonus to use in the classroom.  The only setbacks of using technology in your classroom are the fact that technology can malfunction and not always work properly so you should always have a backup plan.  The other thing that I have to keep in mind is that every school will not have the same technology available to me and that money will forever be an issue so I will always need to be able to flexible in the classroom.  The most significant lesson I have learned in this class was to not be afraid of change because it does not have to be a bad thing.  The most useful program that I learned how to use would actually be Word because I never realized the extent of what it could do when used properly.  The other programs I learned how to use in this class will most likely come in handy for future use but will definitely be less common in my life.  I just hope that I do not forget how to use them between now and when I need them again.
